I've had the watch for half a year, and I have come to really like wearing it, despite it wearing somewhat big on my smaller wrist.
First thing I have to note is the excellent service from everyone involved in the transaction and shipment! I'm a huge proponent of mechanical watches, and I will always recommend Serious Watches to my friends and collegues, when asked where to get an entry/affordable mechanical watch.
So, the watch: First thing I noticed was a strong mechanical oil odor, likely from the rotating besel mechanism. It was very strong and lasted about a month.. Second thing that bothered me instantly was the etching on the crown. It is really deep, which is a good thing, but the edges are left very sharp, and it always sticks on clothing fiber and scratches skin in a very unpleasant way. The crown screwing is also very raw feeling, almost like the screw and the hole were not processed entirely... It gives a very uneven and rough feeling when screwing and unscrewing.
The rest of the case, however, is superb! Which kind of makes me feel worse; because the besel finish, the case brushing and polishing and besel mechanism are all really pristine, well above what you can expect from a Seiko in the price range ... Which make the crown shortfall really noticable by contrast.
The glass is A DOMED SAPPHIRE! That's just too great.
Dial also leaves me wondering, how the hell does this micro brand even make their money? The shine of the polished applied indices is awesome in combination with slight magnification/warping effect of the dome
The strap it comes with is quite impressive aswell, its thick and it really complements the watch.
The time keeping is also impressive, a combination of wearing the watch for 16hrs and resting it on its back for 8, yields accuracy of +0.8s a day in warm weather.
Overall I'm very happy with the watch; So much, in fact, I might even modify the crown and make it perfect, once the warranty is void, of course.
