This is not my first Orient Star, so I should not be astonished about the amazing quality and attention to details and finishing. And yet, I am astonished once again, especially from the point of view of value for money.
How do they do it? Not being an economist, I can only assume that the people at Orient put all resources into their watches instead of promotion and image building. I consider that smart because this way their products are their promotion and image, based on substance as opposed to marketing talk. And for us customers it means we get a lot of watch for our money.
This Orient Star RE-AW0006S “Heritage Gothic” is a masterpiece in my humble opinion. Apart from the design, high quality finishing, and attention to detail, it is the movement that attracted me to this watch – my other Orient Stars (and regular Orients for that matter) have a stellar track record, both in accuracy and reliability. Equally important is the excellent legibility of the beautiful dial and the handset. The power reserve indicator is a very welcome bonus for me. Makes life with more than one watch so much easier.

The Orient Star RE-AW0006S is a stunning watch. The dial is a true work of art with beautifully applied markers, a power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, date at 3 and a small seconds hand at 6. Under the hood is the automatic, in-house Orient Cal. F6G42 movement, which has everything you may wish for, such as hand winding and hacking. The comfortable bracelet is very refined, in typical Japanese style.
With the RE-AW0006S Orient has created a masterpiece that is modestly sized but speaks like a huge watch!
