I picked the Näcken V2 modern blue as an hommage to the Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner 9401 from the late 70ies.
I was not sure about the blue being too flashy according to the 3D renderings from NTH's website. In real life it's absolutely fabulous: it's a greyish blue with some green and the hue varies depending on the ambient light, from almost grey in bright direct light to almost marine blue in low light. The dial and bezel are very close in terms of hue, no mismatch here.
The looks is fantastic... as the build quality ! I can't spot any weakness here, it's perfectly executed with a level of craftmanship that you usually find on pieces double or triple the price.
I picked it up with the BOR bracelet (the oyster wasn't available anymore), which is also very well executed with a great machined clasp (a little bit bulky) and very comfortable. Having a BOR on a submariner styled watch looks unusual, I am not a big fan but anyway this piece is a strap monster and looks fantastic on leather, rubber, Nato and MN straps.
The 40mm case size and the fact that it is rather thin at around 12mm makes it super wearable and any strap combination would work on most wrists.
The delivery lead time and packaging from Serious Watches has been outstanding, a super well executed gift wrap, some goodies (including a rubber band) and a handwritten note made a very cheerful customer experience for me - we are on more than 5 stars territory in this regard !
Overall I'm super happy ! Both the watch and the service from Serious Watches have exceeded my expectations.
