I did not buy this watch because of Honda collaboration; I just thought it was really cool looking. Seiko did a really tasteful job incorporating design cues from the Super Cub, including a headlight index at the 12, turn signal indices at the 11 and 1, the Super Cub emblem above the 6 index, and the retro, two-toned color scheme on the dial that continues very stylishly onto the Honda-branded NATO strap. But aside from paying tribute to a historically significant motorcycle, the design stands firmly on its own, and is not some kitschy novelty like the Gulf, Ferrari, etc.-themed watches. Another dial feature that I appreciate are the square and rectangular indices, which distinguish it from the round and tablet-shaped ones on most SKX/5KX models. The white-on-black day/date display is also a great design choice. The seconds hand is color-matched to the turn-signal indices. The green alumin(i)um bezel insert satisfyingly ties into the green on the dial, and the graphics on the insert look great. The one kitschy feature that I will forgive is the fuel gauge etched into the crown: it's subtle and whimsical, and it's pretty much unheard of to have anything other than a sterile crown on a Seiko in this price range. Of course, it wouldn't be a Seiko if the chapter ring wasn't slightly misaligned, but I have come to accept it as a feature, rather than a bug...I'll probably replace the Hardlex crystal with double-domed sapphire at some point, so I'll use that opportunity to align the chapter ring. This watch gets five stars from me.

To the watch..it is in my opinion a well made retro watch with an excellent green and cream color scheme. The nato strap that comes with the watch completes the look perfectly and makes it very light. I added some photos ...so you can all be jealous :-)

The Seiko 5 SRPJ49K1 Limited Edition is a great, versatile sports watch that pays tribute to the Honda Super Cub, a lightweight motorcycle produced in millions for over 60 years. It's a true all-rounder with 100m water resistance, unidirectional bezel and a comfortable 42.5mm case (excluding crown) and a modest 46mm lug to lug distance. The great vintage bi-color dial is protected by Hardlex mineral glass.
Under the hood is the mechanical (automatic) Seiko in-house Cal. 4R36 movement, with a day and date indicator at 3 o'clock. This movement is also visible through the themed display caseback window.
This is a Limited Edition watch, production is limited to 6000 pieces, each watch is numbered on the caseback.
