My 1st pickup from Serious Watches and I'm over the moon on all fronts! Before I mention the classic Zelos Bronze "Hammerhead" V3, I've got to rate the purchase experience! WOW! I see what others are talking about now, and sorry I'm late. From start to finish the experience with Serious Watches was above and beyond. I've reached out in the past with queries on other models, always pertaining to lume strength. This time I knew the lume was not even questionable as I set my sights on the Meteorite Hammerhead from Zelos with undoubtedly exquisite luminosity. I've owned the previous V1 in Stainless and Bronze. They were beasts in a good sense, and absolutely unique as one has come to enjoy from Zelos. I missed this meteorite from Zelos at the time of launch and was very pleased I could find it from Serious, which is often par for the course when small runs sell out from the original manufacturer. On this visit I once again reached the same gentleman, Mark, whom seems to be present 24/7 to answer calls, questions, and then fulfillment. All while extending the utmost courtesy, and knowledge, easily meeting any challenges. I ordered on a Friday, concluding an afterthought on the Saturday (Mark was there for me) and my package was away 1st thing Monday. Arriving in the US Tuesday, through customs, and at my door Thursday. Amazing!
Well, I opened the box and was immediately buoyed! Before me was a beautifully wrapped package, with the "Serious" insignia proudly before me. I removed the paper, only to find a 2nd layer of gift wrap with beautiful signed ribbon "Serious Watches". I felt like a king! It wasn't even my Birthday. Who does this? Every manufacturer should forward their product to Serious Watches for a proper presentation. I've received some nicely designed watch packaging before but this was the pièces de résistance!! Thank you Mark & Serious Watches. You are indeed serious about all aspects of your service.
Oh, the watch. yes, well it arrived on a Thursday, and my wife and I were popping over to the coast for a weekend getaway. I was so excited to be able to sport my new Bronze Zelos Hammerhead v3. The V3 is very wrist friendly compared to previous versions. It appears chunky, but that's by design. The specs are pretty true, though it doesn't wear large at all. Bronze watches to me should have some heft, be unique, and stand apart from conventional dive watch design. Bronzo's conjure up nautical vibes for me and stimulate the imagination. There are some amazing bronze watches out there from true artisans. Though everyone is doing a bronze now, they are not all so imaginative. Zelos has brought a unique design to the forefront. The "meteorite" dial is a signature design of Zelos and is indeed their "classic" dial finish. Lume is 2nd to none. Bezel action is firm, solid and clicky. Zelos has updated their rubber straps which are now very supple and pliable. Their new packaging is also very very nice. Gone is the wooden box, replaced with a stylish and useful aluminum gift box with latch. I'm very pleased to have a Zelos back in the stable, in the form of the Bronze Hammerhead.
It was so great that Serious Watches had this model after I thought I'd missed it.Always check Serious if you can't find from the OM. I will definitely come back to Serious Watches. Something very interesting to note. One would think they would pay more purchasing from a 2nd party, but it's not the case funnily enough. My watch was less expensive from Serious than if I had bought it from Zelos after launch day pricing. How do they do it? I'm very happy.
